The Big PayDay Bar

When it comes to wood, I could definitely see myself being classified as a hoarder. The only thing that keeps me from being worse than I already am, is that I think I’ve got a pretty good idea of what has real value…..and I don’t want to be compared to the cat lady who has 700 Domino’s Pizza boxes stacked up in her living room blocking access to the hallway bathroom. I mean, I do have a burn pile that can be seen from outer space on occasion. Cut to the chase here. What is saved from the burn pile obviously has some artistic value in my mind. It’s just figuring out what to do with all of it in some fashion that is pleasing to the eye. Well, the answer ended up being river rocks. Putting the chainsaws, grinders and sanders to work to make a wooden rock. And then making a massive pile of them and putting them together. It was a gamble. I could see the image in my mind, but wasn’t sure how it would look when actually completed. Hopefully you will agree that the gamble paid off. The Big PayDay Bar is a compilation of native Louisiana woods. Red Oaks, swamp oaks, white oaks, pecans, sweet gum, sycamore, pear, cedar, live oak, cherry, swamp ash, black walnut. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed putting it all together. And as always, admirers are welcome….buyers adored. Holler at me if you are interested in a purchase.
